Trips: Tioman Island day 1

Tioman gang !!


Everyone tells me Redang is wayyyy better than Tioman, truth unfolds, Redang IS better than Tioman.

I do not wish to condemn Tioman because it had sand flies, colourless corals, same kinds of fish and not-so-pretty beaches. I always tell myself the fact, holidays only means more if you have the right company. It is always the people around you that make you enjoy it better !

No more last minute rushing to the bus station this time around. 30minutes ahead of time, punctual as usual, we were already at Pudu, drench in sweat, made our way through the exhaust-filled bus stops on the lower level. Had a rather peaceful journey till we sang a birthday song for some strangers seated behind. Then we got a lecture from a stupid malay man for making too much noise !!! We were just talking man ! although it was 1 am but the indians behind us were shouting !!! WE met a few chinese later and they even said the malay was being unfair ! so much for racial integration.

The batangs that i am missing who ended up in a jungle route with our snorkelling gears.
Anyhow, made a stop around 2-3 am in a place that smelled like palm oil fruit. It was middle of no where with no street lamps, had a drink there and my bro sat on the no-light road to take a pic only to be scolded by a mass of drivers !

Got to Mersing at 530 am and we had to wait till 7am for our ferry. Played Frisbee and chilled around a bit. Everyone manage to get a good rest on the ferry and we all headed to PANUBA INN !! .. was a really really nice hotel/chalet. My room was facing the jetty itself. The service was great because i left my plastic bag full of snacks and my pouch in it and they actually made a quick stop to throw it back to me !

So we started camwhoring etc... Went to ABC or something just to check out the beach ... Had to go through a stupid 20minutes jungle trail and ended up disappointed. As usual, played frisbee, went to do our own snorkelling and picture taking .. The fins were soooo uncomfortable and hard to use !

1st day was just busy deciding on what we should do etc... ended up not going anywhere but we took a whole load of awesome pictures ..
Went to tekek to get duty free stuff... everyone actually bought something because it was awfully cheap.. Way cheaper than the ones sold in airport... and the boat ride cost us RM30 per person .. crazy sial ..

Woke up early thx to the strong waves beating against the rocks.. It was really windy and we could actually hear howls grumbling through the windows.
Started taking pictures at the jetty ... did some awesome jumping activities together with Yun and my bro ..

The others were still sleeping because they had a late night. We had breakfast and i woke everyone up at 9am . Went back to the room for a quick shower and headed back down to join the rest.
The waves was still too rocky that's why we had to wait till 1030 ish to start our snorkelling trip !

Snorkelling was alright, not as fun as redang because this guide is a little proud. Didn't even bother telling us where were we or what should we do ... More freedom i guess but it wasn't too much to cherish.. Swam around, took some cool underwater pictures..

Coral beach was a letdown and the nicest beach was Long beach .. Looked almost similar to those in redang.. white powdery sand ... except it was filled with sand flies. We actually played with the dead/safe jelly fishes.. Stupid jim even collected a whole frisbee of it !! and we throwed it at each other !!

Was really tired and headed back to the hotel. took extra jumping shots as well and Jim came up with a stupid but awesome idea ! All credit to him for asking all of us to jump of the jetty. We took multiple shots of it and videod it as well. I think we did 6-7 jumps off the jetty and Yun did 2 !! A very good start for the lady ! gonna post it up on youtube soon after i edit them ..

Had an emo night because we were leaving early next morning.. Talked to Victoria a bit ( a friend Jim met from Russia ) and we played Taboo, bridge and some card games.. Was a really good night..

Family trip to Fraser's hill

FRASERS !!!


My week of trips began with Pangkor.. Then it is Fraser's hill with family ...

For the start this place may sound a bit dodgy or boring.. but its a perfect escapade for a family !

It took us around 2 hours or so to reach Fraser's. There is a new road up now where you do not have to wait for alternate hours to go up or down. The fact that the road is meant for only one car had everyone going up on odd hours and coming down on even hours.

So much for the route up. This was and still is my dream house, or should i say dream vacation house. Loved this place since i was a small kid. Fraser's is undergoing a major facelift, giving it a new and better look taking over the old Frasers. The air is still fresh, the flowers are still booming, there are still only two mini market. Unlike genting and cameron highlands, everything is literally the same ! untouched !

We stayed at Malaigh Bungalow. Enjoyed tea in the gardens, breakfast, dinner together. watched tv over the fireplace and had supper with the cold air blowing against our skin. The feeling was all the same !!! Food was awesome prepared by the caretaker.

1st thing my dad did was played table tennis with me !!! AWESOME!! .. lol .. he beat me 2 sets but i got the upper hand afterwards. good old days where me, sis, bro and daddy played table tennis.. So we had our family talk as well over snacks and tea :p

Highlight of the trip was still the waterfall.. Jeriau waterfall.. There was no one there. We had all the fun to ourself !! Awesome , couldn't even stay under the waterfall for a mere 5 seconds. Pressure was too high and it was too loud... Dad was first to try !! He turned into a happy small kid again !! lol ...

A milestone post : Freshers camp in Pulau Pangkor

I did not realise i've reached a milestone of 100 post within the 2 years.

To start with the 101 post, I'd like to thank all readers who frequently make time for my tiny little blog to learn about me and enjoyable things i've done in my life.

Freshers Camp this year was held in Pulau Pangkor. A beach can never be bad, especially you have 43 people hogging the whole beach !

Imperial Malaysian Society Freshers camp has been going on for quite some time now and i believe the tradition has brought every single one closer than before.

Left KL sentral promptly at 945 am and headed straight to Lumut. Had KFC for lunch. I was on the fastest pink taxi van on the island. That uncle literally zoomed past every1 and horning at every single human or motor that came to his path !! and yes, taxis in Pangkor are all pink in colour.

So we had all our routines, games, ice breaking sessions etc. I'm sure every1 enjoyed the beach as much as i did. I was also surprised i could remember every single freshers name !!!! Cheers to myself. Played and taught a few juniors how to play bridge and they got hooked on to it .. Went to bed at 3-4 am the 1st night.

We went Kayaking the next day after the tide smoothen and i still have no idea what's the difference between kayaking and canoeing. kayaks were totally different from the 1s i had in Norway but it was like 100 times cheaper !!!

Found a new guy name CISM ( coral island shit man ) He was suppose to shit at coral island ( the tiny island we kayak to but it was too expose :p ) so he decided to kayak back with JJ. and so for your information, he did not shit in coral island, but due to the fact that he was with JJ, the whole world now thinks he shitted there. he's a good sport thankfully.

Did our 5min performance at night and our group turned out winners !! 2 years in a row for me !
We did Dikir Barat chereograph by all individuals in the group and the poem was hand written by Sarah, a post grad. the other 3 performances were awfully hilarious thanks to seniors like sing kwan and JJ. JJ literally took over the whole stage himself and his group mates acted around him instead of for him !!!

Late night sleep again and went over to the beach for frisbee session again. Headed back to KL and arrived at 6pm.

Shern is leaving tomorrow. Another one down. The UK people don't have much time left as well. Counting down the days is nothing to be ecstasy about.

Merdeka eve !!!! So we had our KK aka merdeka baby celebrating his birthday in Curve .
Nothing extreme, simple.

Chilled awhile and went over for countdown in front of Royal Bintang Hotel. Our favourite spot for countdowns.. Fireworks were turn-off. only 5 minutes. low budget. better than nothing though.

Went over to One World Hotel to have another surprise for KK from the DJ people...
Went to MCD for super early breakfast. Slept at 6 am.
