The endurance test: round 2

Safely survived 5 hours op by Dr Chan in Gleneagles Hospital.

Now, that's only the beginning. The grueling 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 9 months and 1 year would be checkpoints I have to make and will only succeed with enough motivation and desire.

6 weeks till I can drive and lose my crutches
12 weeks till I can have most extension back on my knee
9 months till I'm free from the Dr
12 months till I'm back to becoming a sportsman.

At least this time around, I know what the doctor did to my knee.

1) remove my old ACL - replaced previously by 2 tendons on my right hamstring
2) Took my left hamstring - 2 of them to bundle up for the new ACL
3) Drilled an extra tunnel (totaling 2 tunnels on my femur) for two critical motions: extension and rotation
4) used 1 endobutton or biomaterial to lock in the positions on my femur.
5) Used the previous hold on my tibia and used another endobutton there.
6) added an additional screw near my shin to hold the ACL on the tibia.

Pretty cool stuff I can analyse my own X-ray now. Pity I can't dissect my MRI Scan yet.

So, stayed 2 nights and physio has been 6 times a day so far. Welcome to the endurance race Nigel. I'll survive this and come out stronger.
