New term , Spring term

I just realised i have a few overdue post which are still kept as draft in my post list because they're
all half done !! ... It was mostly about nicole's and Caleb's trip to London .
Well , i'll try to finish them up if i have a good memory .
Just to recap , New year sales has not end yet , BUT i'm officially declaring that it is
OVER !!! I am done with shopping ( fingers crossed ) ..
I bought just too (much )things , whether it was for myself , brother or sister .
So , yes i am done with shopping unless .......... i'm finish with it .
Will post my buyings soon i hope and hopefully i do not scare any1 .

Started Pilot Plant today , freaking cool , dressed in lab coats , hard hats and goggles ,
explored the "plant " trying to look for missing valves on our diagram . Tiring ordeal but
i think our group did pretty well for the 1st day .
I have to start studying as well !! .. 2 more weeks to spring test .. STUDY !!!

It was quite warm in London for the past few days . around 14-15 degrees , i can't imagine how i'm going to stand the heat when i'm back in Malaysia when i'm already sweating in the tube !!
Had 3 ball games so far . Beat UCL at home , lost to Royal Holloway away ( totally battered although it was as near as 10 points at 1 point ) and beat Beit hall . The 1st 2 are for the imperial team and the latter is for my Hall . Anyways , Quite sucky at playing ball now already because i didn't play for almost a month over Christmas and my 1st 3 shots for imperial was air balls !! lol ..

Badminton , so far so good . had our 1st mixed game last night .. Beat St Georges ( medical school that has a twinning program with IMU ) .. lol .. been training every week . Got my new pair of badminton shoes from Malaysia , although they're giving me blisters but its pretty comfortable .. Playing more of a smart game now because my tension is only 22 to save my racket string from breaking too many times ..

Cut the crap , its down to food again .. Apart from the vege chicken i tried , haven't been trying anything new recently .. My latest cravings , French Fries , bought a packet from Iceland 1 pound ,oven cook it whenever i want and ended up getting sore throat the next day .
Cooked Plum sauce beef yesterday , all i can say is the beef smell kills the taste of the plum sauce hands down ... but it was still alright i'd say ( things u cook urself are never awful )
Met up with Seong Juin again this week . came down from swiss again
Had Char kway Teow ( turned out to be bloody chee cheong fun ish cause its cantonest style ) and MY very 1st NASI LEMAK since i got here !!! it was so so tasty !!!

well , its 2008 already ... time flies .. it actually jumps , i remember caleb saying .
I didn't have lectures till 7th , had caleb and nicole hanging around ...
Caleb's departure on the 6th marked the start of my new term . My spring term .
A special thanks to caleb again for cooking and taking care of my room .
Nicole for coming to London though we weren't the best tour guide i would say ..
A long and winding term ahead .. i will have labs and pilot plants this term .
With at least 2 assignments to hand up .. well this is all Uni is about anyway.
Mnite ( malaysian night ) coming up in march , plenty of games and rehearsals ..
Well , time management is the key i guess . Hopefully i can cope with everything that is thrown at me ..

I have started cooking by myself again after caleb left .

I am hating my room now .. well , i love my room ( its my very 1st room of my own ) , i just dislike the place .. being 40minutes away by tube n walk , the connection is so so slow !! .. Also ,
i do not know why there is no hot water now ! The room is stuffy and the window only opens a mere 5cm .. the lights are all dim !! what happen to the fluorescent energy saving campaigns !!
Though i enjoy working on my own table .. and sleeping on my own bed .. i just can't Love this place .. lol ..

I have been shopping still , and its now further reduction period . Every time i pop by a shop ,

Sports season is back now , trying to get my body into shape again . Got to my original weight when i go here !! .. An achievement indeed .
Spring test in 2 weeks , going to Bath in 3 weeks time , going to Belgium for a day trip on 3rd day of chinese new year !

New year's eve .. 31/12/07
The very last day of the year was a Monday , What a day to start the new week .
It was bright and sunny in the morning , way better than Christmas .
Woke up early , had awesome bruschetta by caleb and went shopping yet again . Met up with Beth to do our shopping .

Lol , she was suppose to help me pick and buy my sister's stuff but she ended up buying
most of them and well , it was a surprise i ended up empty-handed on New year's eve .
Had lunch on the go from Boots , I can't believe i drop the shortcake that causes like 91p .!! damn it anyways , no point picking it up , London's streets are too filthy .
Anyway , stupid Foot Locker couldn't find the other side of the shoes i wanted . ( And 1 only 10 pounds ) !! .. so till now i still do not have a proper balling shoes . Walked Beth to the tube station , then went back to my hall to grab some free chinese new year's eve dinner . We had fried rice , spring rolls , and 3 other meat dishes . Ate a lot because i was afraid our dinner wasn't gonna be enough for 13 people !! ..
Headed straight to chinatown afterwards , met up with Caleb at 1703 , wanted to buy the 2kg of fresh prawns but the shop closed like 5 minutes before we met up . Went to the shop behind and grab 2 packets of frozen seafood , some noodles and fish balls ( cost like 3.35 pounds for 20 fish balls , expensive ! ) Went to sainsbury to grab meat , chicken , salmon and baguettes ..
Met up with kimberly and headed back to her place . Her place was along the main street connecting Trafalgar Square and Embankment . really tight security that night , 1 resident is only allowed 3 guests. signed me , yheu shen and caleb in . Cracking our head how to sign the other 9 in !! .. lol .. got hold on 1 card and a friend was willing to help . Nicole n co. left because they waited too long . Finally , got Jian Jun , Shen Fei and Beth in .
me laughing off because they had to deal with people . My phone no connection so no worries !!

Had some awesome salmon and ham baguettes to start with . Prepared steamboat , had 2 pots , tom yam and the normal 1 . used 2 rice cooker to cook the soup . It was surprisingly fast and easy considering 4 male patrons work the kitchen effortlessly . The ladies were just keeping an eye on us . Anyways , had LOADS of food because 7 of us were eating 13 ppl's food ! .

Was raining , who cares when there's only a few minutes left to the new year .. Found a good spot for photo taking and viewing of the fireworks .

New year was a Blast , Big Ben going off 12 times i think ( i was too busy looking up in the sky if not to the side ) , Thousands of people shouting 10,9,8.....1 !!!! Fireworks were really good . Came off the London Eye , the government spent 1.3million pounds on it !! .. And what's more to ask for , having great friends around u(hann was near i'm sure ) with brightly lighted skies thanks to the fireworks , it was indeed a great year to look forward to ;2008 .

People started to leave after the 15minutes of magical moment . JJ left soon after and we walked back to the hall . found our irish cream stolen and we're all pissed with no liquor available . Walked beth to the tube station and met the guys at chinatown afterwards . Decided to finish off our dinner back home . Went back , waited for hann and gobbled down every single bit left in the rice cooker .

Had Krispy Kreme and chilled a bit . Left around 4ish together with hann n co. who's going to the airport to catch shen tong . Slept at 6ish . !!!!

It was a really really nice day full of events .
2007 will not be forgotten but let's try to make 2008 a much much better 1 !!

Shopping .. Boxing day sales ... till ... has not ended yet ..

1st day mess .. keep spending

Just a brief update about my maniac shopping ways in London ..
Rise and shine from the wet Christmas day .. Woke up slightly late , 9 ish and had breakfast ..
packed a little lunch and headed off to Oxford Street ( street for shopaholics like me .. )
Damn the Old Street station , it was close because it was badly vandalized by stupid guys
on Xmas day . Anyways , Caught a bus to Holborn station , went on the tube and headed to bond street instead . Kept looking at my shopping list .. Making sure i get everything i want 1st .

Having bought a polo T and Diesel jeans from Harvey Nichols on Christmas eve , i thought i had less things to shop already . Also , bought 2 Abercrombie polo T from the US ( hand delivered by Wei kiat to me !! )
1st shop targeted was obviously Selfridges .. U can see everyone carrying at least 1 Yellow Selfridges shopping bag around .. That place sells reasonably priced branded stuff after discount . Didn't manage to buy anything from 10 till 2ish .. Thankfully had my trusty chocolate digestive to save me from hunger . Went to almost every shop and it was so so packed ... but it was nice looking at things at a cheap price .

Met up with seniors , Zhern Yong , Xue Lieh , Kok ding etc .. Shopped at Carnaby Street , within minutes of meeting them in Energie / Miss Sixty , i bought my 1st clothing ! .. A rugged yet cool jacket ( as described by yheu shen ) and i shrug off almost half the price my jacket was suppose to cost .!

Met up with hann afterwards , went to esprit with him .. managed to grab some really cheap shirts , cheapest was 1.99 pounds for a shirt !! .. Walked around and then lined up and got into Armani Exchange , Bought the same shirt but i went to change the t to a white 1 instead because i have too many black t's already . Went to topman , hann's always by my side , supporting me , lol .. encouraging me , ended up buying a pair of shoes there .. Went to Niketown , bought another Jordan shoes thanks to hann .. End of my shopping on the 1st day .. pretty hectic on my spending i'd say ..

Went to Bicester shopping village on 28th and managed to grab hold of a Ralph Lauren jeans , dkny bag and a diesel T .. lol .. okay enough said .. i've just spent too much money ..
Bought 4 shoes in total , 1 on the way , still waiting for the storekeeper to find the other side of it ..

Christmas 07 ..

Was so looking forward to Christmas after my white pre-Christmas holiday in France ..
Anyways , Christmas was gonna be celebrated with family !! ..
Went shopping on 24th with Zhern yong , got a pair of jeans and polo T .. Then went strolling around the streets to look for good deals ..
hubby was in town .. lol .. friends nice !

Had lunch with my hubby , Wei kiat ! Was suppose to go for Chinese buffet but it was close . Didn't want to go for yucky thai buffet across the road so went to Canton for their tasty and reasonably priced food . Went shopping with hann , kimberly , jj , yheu shen afterwards and broke off at 5ish as shops started to close . sent Wei Kiat back and headed back home to pack my things
this place looks familiar huh .. ?

Went to mom's place to stay over because there won't be any transport running on Christmas day .. Had uber spaghetti prepared by my mom and black soya sauce chicken ..
Woke up at 8ish , it Was Christmas !! .. but it was RAINING , sobs .. so went back to sleep , lol .. woke up at 1030 !! was already late we're suppose to meet my cousin's hubby at 1030 ! Had some minor miscommunication with my cousin so we ended up only leaving at 1115 . Brian(my cousin's hubby ) was a really nice guy and i didn't know there's this child lock for the back seat door . Something like you can only open the door from the outside .

Saw the kids in pyjamas and went to wish my cousin (peck sar ) and gave every1 a hug . Lol .. the kids were so cute . Lucky Richard ( elder ) got a nintendo Ds for Xmas ! . Kieran got something spaceship toys .. There was a really nice Xmas tree beside a tiny fireplace . It was really really a real Xmas celebration .. Got a really nice sweater from my cousin . And my mom got a perfume from her . hehe .. shiok ! ..

Helped my cousin prepare Brussel sprouts and potatoes .To start with , Brian opened a bottle of wine and we all started drinking while waiting for the potatoes to cook. I found out that the secret to crispy potatoes is to use Lard . We had Roast Turkey ,roast pork , roast potatoes , carrots , brussel sprouts .The best Traditional Christmas dinner(it was at 2.30pm but its called dinner ) i've ever had .

After food and wine , went to the couch to chill and watched Nemo with the kids . dozed off and woke up only to have uncle Brian offering me a plate of sherry trifle with cream! it was so so tasty i wanted to have a 2nd serving .

Before i could ask for more , we were already having biscuits and cheese .. Christmas is really about eating and eating . Then it was time to pull the cracker !! .. I've never been so happy pulling a cracker in my life . usually its just pull it and look how lousy the gifts inside are .. But the atmosphere was totally different this time around with 2 kiddies around !! ..

Had mixed nuts and raisins afterwards .. was really good .. We just couldn't stop eating .. Had port ( another alcoholic drink ) .. I don't really like wine but i'd say this is the most i've ever drink . Ate again afterwards after a small chat with my cousin . Haven't had a chat with her before since i was a kid . Had prawns , irish brown bread and turkey this time around .

Drank alcohol free rose afterwards , chilled and watch the telly with uncle and couzzy . drank more coke and orange juice after having such a heavy meal .. Was suppose to have some Christmas pudding but uncle Brian was just too tired and lazy to get it for us .. lol .. was too full anyways .. the kids went to bed way past their bedtime and we were watching some stupid show with so many foul language in it ..
Went home at 11ish and that was the end of my 1st wet Christmas in London .
The feeling of having celebrated and enjoyed a traditional Christmas was exhilarating .. It really matters the most when family is around you ..
